The 2016 annual conference will be held among the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Estes Park, Colorado. We'll meet May 26-29*. Take a look at where we'll be gathering for meetings, meals, fellowship and lodging!  http://ymcarockies.org/ Make this part of your Memorial Day/Summer vacation plans as there is the option to arrive before or stay after the main Conference dates.** Though still a conventional ACMI Conference designed to equip, connect and encourage those engaged in or desiring to launch international student ministries (ISM), the 2016 Conference will be family friendly. The YMCA of the Rockies offers lots of on-site complimentary recreation! Many children's activities will be available while parents enjoy conference sessions, and childcare will be available for younger children. 2016 Conference Plenary Session Speakers:

GEORGES HOUSSNEY

Georges Houssney - Founder and President, Horizons International Georges Houssney is Founder and President of Horizons International. He was raised in Lebanon where he was saved and began his work planting churches among the unreached in the Middle East and North Africa. In the 1980s he moved with his family to Colorado where they have been serving international students and expanding their work worldwide.  Horizons' motto is to Proclaim the gospel, Disciple the nations and Equip the Church with the purpose of awakening a new generation of bold witnesses among the nations.

DOUG SHAW

JOAQUIN VARGAS

Doug Shaw - President, International Students Inc. Indian-born, Dr. Douglas Shaw, once an international student himself, is the President/CEO of International Students, Inc. in Colorado Springs, Colorado and has served in that role since 2001. After receiving his initial education in Calcutta, Dr. Shaw came to the United States and earned both an MA and Ph.D. degrees.... At a time of changing paradigms in Missions, Doug Shaw is firmly focused on driving forward the strategic goals of ISI as it pertains to reaching out to future world leaders....

 

Joaquin Vargas - Vice President of Engagement and Innovation, at Missions Door in Denver, Co.   Joaquin was appointed to the Mission in 1985 and began serving in his home town of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. Over the past 30 years Joaquin has served in church planting, leadership development, and has had the opportunity to equip and train missionaries around the world. He was asked to join the Executive Leadership Team in 2011 and became the first internationally-born Vice President of Ministries. As of July 2015 Joaquin was promoted to Vice President of Engagement and Innovation. In short, Joaquin’s goal is to engage people to support not just missionaries, but programs that impact lives of people and communities. He will be working on bringing new ideas, new methods of fundraising, and revenue to the Mission. Joaquin has a passion to develop strategic alliances and to collaborate with other organizations that will help expand the Kingdom of God. In the past he has collaborated with organizations such as Luis Palau Evangelistic Association, Arizona Christian University, Natural Church Development, and others.

Registration Information

REGISTRATION is a 2 STEP PROCESS.   Step 1:  First Register with the YMCA for your lodging (including meals) using the special link. Step 2: Register for the ACMI Conference through our conference registration web-link also below.

STEP 1:  YMCA of the Rockies Conference Lodging

To make your reservations and pay your required deposit please call the YMCA of the Rockies directly at 888-613-9622, to receive our group rate and participate in the meal plan (indicate the dates, and that you are coming for the ACMI Conference). Rooms for ACMI Conference participants are reserved on a first come, first served basis. Your stay is "American Plan" and includes your meals in the dining hall at the YMCA of the Rockies. Rooms can handle up to six occupants and the cost-per-person is significantly reduced when multiple persons share a room. Children ages 6-12 cost $20 per day; children under 6 are free. Those wanting to share a room will need to coordinate among yourselves, and have one registrant responsible for the booking, and collecting fees from others sharing the room. [Note: Those who choose to not use the YMCA of the Rockies lodging/meal plan and attend as commuters are required to pay $20 per day entrance fee, and all meals costs if eating with our group in the dining hall. You will need to pay that to the YMCA of the Rockies office after arriving.]

***Those with ACMI membership, including new applicants, receive an additional $30 off this rate. You may apply for membership in the registration process.  Current (but not former) members whose annual fees are due will be notified during the process and can renew then. ACMI annual conferences feature plenary sessions, breakout sessions (workshops) by topic related to ISM, informational displays and resources, along with plenty of time for meeting and networking with others engaged in this strategic ministry.

Join us in this beautiful part of God's creation and grow in international student ministry as we are challenged to "give me this mountain" (Joshua 14:12).

*Conference begins as registration opens at 3pm Thursday (5/26), first plenary session at 7:30pm. Conference concludes with check-out/chapel service at 10am Sunday (5/29).
