Glen Osborn is President of China Outreach Ministries (COM), an outreach to Chinese students and scholars at over fifty universities in America.  He has served as a church pastor, as well as in music and youth ministry before joining COM.  Glen is married to Betty; they have three married children and seven grandchildren.

International Friends Meet, Director

Paula is the director of International Friends Meet, a ministry providing resources and assistance to churches who reach out to international students. She served as the Director of International Student Ministry at EvFree Church in Fullerton, CA (1997-2103) and as President of the International Friendship Council of North Orange County (1998-2014).

Denny yoder - ACMI Board Treasurer

Denny served for 19 years with with International Students Inc, including holding a key operations position with the organization. In recent years, Denny has practiced family law in Colorado.

Dr. Bruce MacFadyen

University of Texas Medical School, Professor of Surgery

Dr. MacFadyen is Professor of Surgery at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. He is a founding member of the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons, a general surgery training program in Africa. He and his wife Rosemary have four children, and have enjoyed ministering among international scholars in Texas and Georgia.


Dr. Yaw Perbi

President, International Student Ministries Canada

 Dr. Yaw Perbi is a physician, pastor and president of International Student Ministries Canada. He is the bestselling author of Thinking Outside the Window, the founder/Global CEO of The HuD Group for leadership development and has ministered in 30 countries on five continents. Yaw is a Fellow of the Africa Leadership Initiative and a Lausanne Movement Catalyst for Int'l Student Ministries. Dr. Perbi resides in Montreal, Canada with his dear wife Anyele and four delightful children. He owes all this to Christ Jesus.

Jim Wert

Managing Director, Wert & Associates

Jim serves a broad cross-section of nonprofit and commercial clients as a management consultant in organizational strategy and health. His particular focus over the last 16 years has been in the faith-based sector, with a global clientele that includes community development, church growth, Scripture translation/engagement, philanthropy, youth/student ministry, and Gospel proclamation. A former moderator of the Presbyterian Church in America’s General Assembly, Jim lives in Atlanta with his wife Emily, along with many Tolkien-related collectibles.


Neale Hightower

Westminster International Friends - Atlanta

Neale is retired from BellSouth/AT&T where he held a number of positions in technology evaluation and development. He and his wife, Carol, work primarily with Chinese students on the Georgia Tech campus through North Avenue Presbyterian Church where Neale serves as an Elder.


Nader Wadie

Development Director, Bridges International

Nader serves as the development director for Bridges International, the international student ministry of Cru.  He has served with Bridges International for 8 years, in Houston and now in Austin.  Nader has been involved with ISM for 15 years and was an international student from Egypt and studied at the University of Oklahoma.  He and his wife, Traci, have 4 children.

Rich Mendola

Executive Director, Int'l Friendships InC. (IFI)

Rich has been serving among international students since 1980.  He is also a church planter having established a multicultural church near the Ohio State University campus.  He is married to Janet and they have 6 children: Grace, Danielle, Hope, Philip, Melody, and Paul. Rich loves sharing the gospel with internationals and disciplying them as well as casting the vision of ISM.  He is currently the Executive Director of International Friendships, Inc., headquartered in Columbus, OH but also on 27 campuses in 10 states.


Estera Pirosca

National Director for Staff Recruitment and Training, Int'l Friendships Inc. (IFI)

Estera Pirosca Escobar has been involved in ISM for the past 10 years and is currently the National Director for Staff Recruitment and Training for International Friendships, Inc. (IFI), a national Christian non-profit organization reaching out to international students in the US. Estera is also a Perspectives on the World Christian Movement instructor, speaker, author of the book Portraits of Integration: Journeys Toward Belonging, as well as contributing author for Our Daily Bread devotionals. Formerly an international student from Romania, Estera and her husband Francisco, originally from Chile, live in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Dr. Jack Burke

ACMI Board Emeritus

Dr. Burke is retired from the University of Houston, where he served as the Director of International Students and Scholars Services until 1994. He is a co-founder of ACMI and of the Christian Special Interest Group (SIG) in NAFSA. Dr. Burke is currently the president of International Student Ministries Assistance, Inc.

D’Ann Burke

ACMI Board Emeritus

D’Ann Burke founded the University of Houston’s International Friendship Program and directed it until 2006. She has been a frequent presenter at ACMI and in NAFSA where she served as its Community Section Chair.  She has been active in ISM for over 50 years.

Reg Pope

ACMI Board Emeritus

Reg was ACMI Board Chair from 2006-2008 and Executive Director from 2008-2011. He was elected to the position of Board Member Emeritus in 2013. Reg resides in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.
