Paula Parker
Executive Director

Paula has equipped the church in cross-cultural outreach for more than two decades previously serving as director of international student ministry at EvFree Church in Fullerton, California (1997-2013) and as president of the International Friendship Council of North Orange County (1999-2014).

God opened new doors for broader ISM work in 2013 leading to roles coordinating NAFSA Region XII’s Christian MIG, facilitating a global prayer initiative for Lausanne Movement’s ISM, directing a volunteer-based ministry called International Friends Meet, and serving six years on the ACMI Board of Directors. She is also a writer, speaker, trainer, and consultant for ISM.

Paula is a native Californian. She and her husband David have been married for 34 years and live in Placentia, California. They have three grown children, all married, and two grandchildren. Paula has a degree in Christian Ministry from Hope International University.

Kathy Hulsey
Operations Manager

A California native, Kathy has lived all across the country with Tim, her husband of 37 years. She graduated with a degree in Education, worked as a classroom teacher, and then moved into the technology field as an instructor and systems integrator. She is also a licensed realtor and runs a small business.

Through her local church in Texas, she enjoyed serving in a food ministry for Seniors and other inner-city ministries. She also teamed with a church planter to bring short term mission groups to Central and South America. She has two grown children.

Amanda Howard
Administrative Assistant

Amanda is a Texas gal, born and raised in a big Mexican family. For 19 years, Amanda has lived in cross-cultural communities all over the US serving international students and ISM staff, led outreach and activities on university campuses, served overseas and as an administrative assistant to ISM Director for National Chi Alpha Campus Ministries. Amanda also loves to partner with churches/groups to shed awareness and train how to reach their diverse, cross-cultural communities for Christ.

A graduate of Southwestern Assemblies of God University, Amanda has a Bachelor of Science in Church Ministries and Counseling Psychology. She is certified in TEFL and trained in intercultural studies and theology from Fuller Theological Seminary.

Jonathan Sylvia
Administrative Support

Jonathan has a lifetime understanding of the ISM community having been raised in a home where his father served international students. Jonathan had a 30-year career in higher education administration, and for 16 of those years, he was active in Education Abroad at Dartmouth College and the larger international education community. Now semi-retired, Jonathan is pleased to use his knowledge and skills in service to ACMI.

Dr. Andy Pearce
Church-Based ISM Liaison

Andy has been on staff with ISI for 23 years and currently serves as Director of Church Partnerships. His passion is coming alongside churches in order to help equip the Body of Christ for cross-cultural engagement and fruitful international student ministry. He has a BS in Mathematics from UCLA, an MA in Theological Studies from Liberty University, an MA in Education from California State University, Los Angeles, and a PhD in International Development from William Carey International University. Andy and his wife Sandy have been married for 32 years and have five adult children.

Janet Uetz
Community Group Liaison

Janet has been serving the Lord for over 40 years teaching, leading groups, and church planting. Her career was in pharmaceuticals where she led global projects with strong teams.  After retirement, the Lord led Janet to ISM in Philadelphia. ACMI Community Groups are vital to connecting ACMI members in areas of mutual interest and passion; Janet is delighted to serve as ACMI’s Community Group Liaison.

Scott Murphy

Scott & Marion lived in China teaching English to Chinese students 1981-1983. Afterwards Scott had a career in the retail family furniture business in Tyler, Texas. Scott loves helping international students find fellowship and connect with people who are willing to help them. They have 4 married children and 9 grandchildren.
